The 5th Run For 96/5K will once again be a day to remember - and this year there is even more meaning to the day with the Hillsborough timeline reaching 30 years on April 15th.
To mark this landmark date everyone will be running this year is a commemorative purple t-shirt symbolising the coming together of reds and blues in our city.
Over the last four years both sets of supporters have proudly worn their respective colours but this year, as a mark of respect, we will join as one.
The event will also be joined by Liverpool fans from across the globe with the event being opened up to anyone in the world who would like to show their support for the 96.
There will be many people running this year as 'virtual' entrants - meaning that wherever they are in the world they can take part and wherever possible run at the same time. If not at the same time they can run in their event t shirt, with their event number and proudly show their event medal when they complete their run.
We will be opening up a virtual gallery to feature the global support for the 96.
This year there will also be a 'couch to 5K' training programme available to anyone who would like to start jogging and also a big focus on getting kids active and involved on the day through the 1 mile fun run on the day.
So, there will be lots of activity in the lead up to the main event so watch out for regular updates and put a date in your diary for Saturday 11th May.
See you in Stanley Park!
