MERSEY TUNNEL VISION FOR RUNNERS IN UNIQUE RACE

More than 2,000 runners took on the annual race challenge of running through the Mersey Tunnel yesterday (Sunday, 1 October).

Runners set for 10K / half marathon / 26-mile races
Almost 1,700 runners are gearing up to take part in three race events across Wirral this weekend.
This Sunday (10 September) will see the award-winning BTR Wirral Half Marathon and 10K return for a fifth consecutive year. While runners keen to take on more of a challenge will be competing in the third annual 26-mile Whistle Stop Tour Of Wirral. MORE

A group of 700 keen walkers, joggers and runners took part in last weekend’s inaugural fun run event to celebrate the life of tragic Croxteth youngster Rhys Jones.
The very first Run For Rhys 5K event, which also included 1 Mile and 3K fun runs, was held last Sunday (27 August) in the grounds of Croxteth Hall and Country Park. MORE

The third annual Run For The 96 in Liverpool’s Stanley Park attracted 1,800 Reds and Blues on Sunday (14 May) to run in the 5K and new 1 Mile fun runs – making it the biggest to date.
The overall aim of the event is to remember and celebrate the lives of the 96 Liverpool fans, who were unlawfully killed in the Hillsborough tragedy on 15 April 1989. MORE

Community legacy event at Stanley Park this Sunday
The third annual Run For The 96 5K takes place this Sunday (14 May) at Liverpool’s Stanley Park, with this year’s event offering participants an even stronger community atmosphere for 2017.
The overall aim of Run For The 96 is to remember and celebrate the lives of the 96 Liverpool fans, who were unlawfully killed in the Hillsborough tragedy on 15 April 1989.
Run For The 96 5K also remembers the families of The 96 and the survivors, who have tirelessly fought for justice with the utmost dignity. MORE
THE POWER OF RUN

In recent weeks the power that comes from running has been very evident across the country with the much covered Chorlton runner being helped to the London Marathon finish line by a complete stranger. The acclaim was immense and more than justified... but is it unusual?
I would say no. It's just not very evident unless it happens to be on national TV.
On a local level it has been witnessed every year since the start of Tour Of Merseyside in 2014 and I dare say many other races across the country. MORE

24th Annual Event Attracts 5,000 Runners

Liverpool FC Legends, four new course records, and two Guinness World Records being broken all made Sunday’s Vitality Liverpool Half Marathon a huge success (2 April).
The sun was shining and made conditions perfect for 5,000 runners who took part in the 13.1-mile half marathon and the BTR 10 Mile Road Race which ran alongside the main event for the second consecutive year. MORE
