DATE NOW CONFIRMED FOR ICONIC LIVERPOOL HALF MARATHON 2027

Event day revealed as Sunday 14th March 2027

Race will start from Everton FC’s Hill Dickinson Stadium

The date for next year’s headline BTR Liverpool Half Marathon has been revealed.

The 34th staging of the iconic race will take place on Sunday 14 March 2027 – and will again start from Everton Football Club’s Hill Dickinson Stadium on the Liverpool waterfront.

Now the Premier League fixtures for the 2026/2027 season have been released, the race date has been agreed and confirmed by race organisers BTR Liverpool, Liverpool City Council, and Everton Football Club.

The race sold out at 12,000 places in 2023 and 2024. Earlier this year, a change to the start line from Pier Head Liverpool to the Hill Dickinson Stadium meant an additional 3,000 places were made available – resulting in the 2025 race selling out at 15,000 places.

Liverpool Half Marathon was first staged in 1994, and this year’s race in March was the biggest ever.

BTR Liverpool anticipate high demand for the 2027 race, and expect the event selling out for a fourth consecutive year.

Now the date has been confirmed, runners who have already registered will be contacted direct.

Those who cannot attend the confirmed date will be given a number of options. They can either transfer their entry to another BTR event in 2026 or 2027 free of charge; transfer their entry to another runner free of charge; or receive a refund.

Following a change to the start line location for 2025, the first four miles of the route were also updated, taking in more of the city centre and its landmarks including Liverpool Town Hall, Chinese Arch, and Liverpool Cathedral.

The race will continue to finish at the world-famous Pier Head Liverpool in front of the Three Graces – Royal Liver Building, Cunard Building, and Port Of Liverpool Building – and under the gaze of the iconic Liver Birds.

BTR Liverpool will work closely with partners and multi-agency planning groups to ensure smooth movement round the city for runners, spectators, local residents, and visitors.

The 2025 race attracted 300 international runners from countries including Argentina, Austria, Belgium, Brazil, Bulgaria, Canada, Channel Islands, Chile, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, France, Germany, Greece, Iceland, Italy, Jersey, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Thailand, Ukraine, and the United States of America.

BTR Liverpool is the leading organisation for creating, managing, and delivering headline running events across Liverpool City Region.

Its annual calendar of competitive races and fun runs take place between March and December. The portfolio also includes Liverpool Santa Dash, Mersey Tunnel 10K, Port Sunlight Road Race, Women’s 10K and 5K Liverpool, Wirral 10K, and Run For The 97.

In 2025, BTR Liverpool and its successful portfolio of events was acquired by Run For All. Mass participation events company Run For All is wholly owned by the Jane Tomlinson Appeal, and continues to honour her ongoing legacy.
