TOUR OF MERSEYSIDE 2021
It's looking really promising as we near the 2021 Tour start date that things will be very back to normal as we eagerly look forward to getting back to race events as we remember them. It is likely that there will be an element of Covid safety introduced to the Tour week and any health based requirements will be confirmed during the final week prior to the event start date of Sunday 27th June.
The reason behind leaving the confirmation of arrangements until the final week is to ensure that we have the very latest health guidance form the area health authorities, UKA and of course each of the local councils across Merseyside.
All event information will be sent by email regarding the new arrangements for the full week, including the new set up for the first leg at Southport. At the time of writing (04.05.21) I am still waiting for confirmation of the half marathon details and will advise all participants as soon as I know.
The subsequent five stages are all as in previous years and details of the various location (if you not taken part before) can be found on THE RACES section (click here)
All those who have requested to defer from the 2021 Tour Of Merseyside will have been sent a new event confirmation email for 2022. Your deferral is valid for one year only and must be used by yourself in 2022 or your entry becomes invalid. Your place cannot be sold to anyone else, transferred to another event or events and refunds will not be given regardless of injury, illness or any changes in personal circumstances.
The Tour Of Merseyside will mark a return to racing for all members of the BTR team and volunteers who help throughout the week. It's probably a first return for many of you taking part and we all have a role to play in making our return both safe and enjoyable. So let's all be mindful of what we have missed since March 2020 and be respectful of each other and enjoy every step along the way of the best week of running you will find anywhere.
Yours in sport,
