Event Information

Join us at the Women’s 5K, created with women in mind. We have worked to create a space safe for women to run, walk, and move in, encouraging connection and shared strength between women. The day promises to have a great atmosphere from start to finish.

Why run this event?

The first Women’s 5K was organised by Liverpool City Council in 1980, being an innovative leader in the development of women’s running after years of men dominating running events. BTR has worked to keep up what is one of the city’s most iconic races, catered specially for our female runners, being marshalled by women, and encouraging an attitude of encouragement, connection, and shared strength.

The race takes place in the original location of the first Women’s 5K - Sefton Park.

In keeping with the messaging of this very special event, our headline partner charity for the Women’s 5K and 10K is the Liverpool Women’s Hospital Charity. Liverpool Women’s Hospital Charity supports the UK’s largest specialist hospital for women, babies, and families, working alongside Liverpool Women’s NHS Foundation to fund life-changing equipment and research for those who need it.

So, whether you’re setting a new PB, reaching a fundraising goal, or just running for fun, come join us at Sefton Park for an amazing event organised by women, for women.
