2024 Liverpool Half & 10 Miler

LIVERPOOL HALF MARATHON & 10 MILER,
17th MARCH 2024
RACE START: 9.00am
The date of the 2024 Liverpool Half Marathon and 10 Miler Road race is confirmed and the event will be held on Sunday 17th March.
It's St. Patrick's Day which is always well supported in Liverpool so there are bound to be some serious celebrations going on in the city centre on 17th!
The half marathon has become a firm favourite in the lead up to the London Marathon with many people using the race as a test of their progress as they head toward the tail end of their marathon training.
Others use the 10 mile distance as a step up from regular 10Ks and test themselves over a longer distance so there are plenty of reasons to take part in this celebratory event.
Either way it's a great way to see the city!
2024 marks the 30th anniversary since the start of what was originally known as the Liverpool INTERNATIONAL Half Marathon back in 1994. And with the city now a firm visitor destination with people from across the world, the event equally certainly attracts runners from far and wide.
Entries opened at 2.00pm on Sunday 26th March (2023) so you have a full year to get the date in your diary and sign up for what promises to be another fantastic day in Liverpool

BTR ANNOUNCES NEW HALF MARATHON
PARTNER FOR 2023
Sports brand 361° will be joining in the celebrations as the Liverpool Half Marathon reaches a landmark year.
BTR is pleased to announce that major European sports brand 361° will be supporting the 2023 event. The Liverpool Half Marathon is the longest established road race event on Merseyside dating back to 1994 and in 2023 reaches the 30 year landmark with thousands of runners taking in the many famous locations around the city on Sunday 26th March. The course has been varied over the years and was even hosted by the London Marathon Company back in 2005 and 2006.
In recent years the event has settled down to use an established course, which boasts a grandstand start and finish on the city’s iconic and world-famous waterfront. Set against a backdrop of the Three Graces, which includes the Royal Liver Building, it really is a stunning setting.
Starting at the Pier Head in the shadow of the famous Liver Building, the course meanders up to the most scenic parkland in the city at Sefton Park before heading back along the waterfront promenade overlooking the River Mersey. You'll be singing Ferry 'Cross The Mersey as you eat up the miles heading back to the city centre for one of the grandest finishes you will ever encounter.
The route takes in many of the famous landmarks that most of you will be familiar with... and some you won't.
There is also a 10 mile race held in conjunction with the half marathon which sets off at the same time and finishes in the same location. The 10 mile option cuts out the Sefton Park section with both half marathon and 10 mile runners merging on Aigburth Drive at the seven and four mile point respectively as the course heads toward the waterfront.
Alan Rothwell, Race Director has been involved with the event from the very first day and is delighted that the event has stood the test of time over the last 30 years saying... " it's great to see the Liverpool Half Marathon still playing a key role in Merseyside in 2023 and I had no idea back in 1994 that I would still be involved with this amazing race."
The event will be supported by European sports brand 361° in 2023 and with the main UK retail outlet for the brand in Liverpool city centre it a perfect fit for both parties.
361° Europe was established in 2016 and is based in Amsterdam. The company is justifiably proud of its innovative sports shoe and apparel range and has identified Liverpool as a key retail outlet.
The company hosts a DO MORE initiative which encourages runners of all abilities and ages to continually strive to achieve more through running activity. 361° actively promotes inclusivity which was a key influence in the decision to link up with BTR Liverpool.
Alan Rothwell said..." over the last 30 years or so inclusivity has always been a part of everything we do at BTR and as this is one of the cornerstones of what drives 361° it was an easy decision to make to link up with this fantastic brand."
361° will have a high profile presence at the Liverpool Skyline Half Marathon and in the meantime you can take a look at their impressive product range at Natterjacks in North John Street, Liverpool city centre.
If you would like to see the full range of products then you can go to www.361europe.com
Bryce Sage, Marketing Manager said... " 361° are excited to be partnering with the prestigious race that is the Liverpool Half Marathon, especially on such a landmark as it is their 30th edition.
We like to encourage and support runners of all levels to go 'one degree beyond and exceed their expectations' that is why we are working with BTR, as they strive for the same in this race.
As official sponsor, we're proud to be helping Alan and the team ensure the Liverpool Half Marathon 2023 is one to remember! "
